1070 vs 1080 ultrawide

so ill be doing a lot of gaming, games i most play are, battlefield, overwatch, civs, gta5 and many more such as beamng and so on, but im also getting a 3440x1400 monitor, 

at first, 1080 was my choice then i looked at some benchmarks  the 1070 was only lik 10fps behind, so, should i get the 1080? or get the 1070 (maybve even save for a couple more weeks and sli) what would you guys choose? 

dont think this will add much, but i also use photoshop and other progreams like that a lot

A 1070 should be fine. 

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

1070 SLI will be rendered kinda useless when the 1080 Ti comes out and 1080 prices drop. Also, SLI has too many problems to be worth it anyways. I would go for the 1080, as the 1070 is really only meant for 1440p 60-75Hz on high/max settings. a 1080 will get you 60fps or more at 3440x1440 on high-max settings, considering it can get 60fps on high in 4k

also i plan to get the x34 predator with 100hz refresh rate, so proably worth it to buy the 1080, also, buy the time it comes to me buying it the ti will most likely have been released so ill proably see how that is

If you want to make use of the 100hz at that resolution definitely go for the 1080. Even that will struggle much of the time to keep that kind of fps with graphics at maximum.

im just very good at saving haha, doing like 150 to 250 a week into savings for my computer

well i just get good hours each week haha, buying pretty much everything this year, then waiting to buy the card because i have a hd7970 and i want to buy a new lense for my camera first haha

yeah man, love my computers, was actually saving a for a new camera to replace mine but then my motherboard and cpu shat itself to im stuch on 775 on a dual core with 2gbs of ram, so computer upgrade it is

My 1070 is working great on Overwatch w/ Ultra settings on my Predator X34...getting 100FPS. Gears of War 4 is a different story for the campaign. I'm getting about 58FPS average w/ Ultra settings. I can't wait to try the Skyrim Remaster on it though...but for now, the 1070 works great for me until the 1080Ti comes out or the Pascal refresh.
