Can gtx 1070 4k?

Dexter89

It should be able to run at high above 60fps in most games.

Edit: A 1080 is much better for 4K though.

The GTX 1070 should handle 4K cause it's on par with the Maxwell Titan X, and this one can do 4K.

You are not going to get stable 60fps on 4k, even the 1080 GTX has hard times. At least not on high settings.

with some fudging with settings even my 970 gladly pushes 4k in a surprisingly wide range of games.

it's not a matter of the card being able to handle 4k, it's a matter of you being able to understand the card's abilities and adjust your expectations (and game settings) accordingly.

that said, it's honestly good enough if you tweak the settings down a bit. depending on the game you could probably max out everything but anti aliasing. (but let's be honest, you dont need AA at 4k...)

1070 is good, but not THAT good. For 4k, a 1080 is a must, and even then, it will have hard time running 60fps on current gen AAA titles. For a 1070, I recommend getting a 1440p 144hz monitor.
But everythig comes down to what you play. If you are playing LOL, DOTA, WOW, HOTS, you'll be fine with 1070 @4k. But playing GTA5, Wichever BF, Doom 3, TR, and you'll feel that the 1070 is not as powerful as hyped. (at 4k)

a GTX 1080 will get 60 fps on high-ish. a 1070 might get medium (maybe). As long as you turn down the antialiasing (which you wont need cause higher resolutions are meant to counter the need for AA) you'll be fine

Well GTX 1070 is more like 1440p card, because you can run 95% of games on max settings and get 60fps at 1440p.

Meanwhile on 4K, you would have to turn down some settings.

You can get like 50-60fps on medium to high settings, but don't expect that results with all settings to ultra.

Sure in some games, but for 4K right now, GTX 1080 SLI would be probbably best idea if you want to have everything on ultra with 60fps. And even in that case you wouldn't see 60fps in all scenarios since SLI isn't realy 100% bust in FPS :)

I have 1440p and GTX 1070. It took me some time to adjust my eyes from 1080p to 1440p.

So going from 1080p to 4K ... well you tell me how it will look :P

I use a GtX 1070 on my 4k screen. It's great.

I usually use high settings and go with a 3200x1800 resolution. It upscales nicely and 60Hz is possible on most titles i play.

1600p is also a nice option or even sometimes 1440p. Still looks great on a 4k screen.

If you get a 4K screen ake sure it's an HDR screen otherwise you'll ponder about upgrading again soon...

Really depends on the games. I think Techdeals on youtube just released a video on this topic.

in BF1 the 1070 was able to get a 60(?) something average FPS on ultra settings on 4k. If you play with your settings, I am sure you can get decent results on 4k with a 1070.
