depends on what kind of sound OP likes and it would be outright stupid to just say "anything from X brand".

I say

Because they give you low quality sound for the money, you should almost think that they have no idea of what they are doing.

Sound is often not the first priority in most gaming headsets, features and design are often above sound, when we talk gaming headsets, there are expections like HyperX Cloud, beyerdynamic MX300, Sennheiser Game Zero/on, Audio technica ATH-ADG1X/ATH-AG1X

Both those audio technica headsets are $300 in the US so probably more over there. I don't know finlands currency off hand

that those are just a part of expections, not really a recommendation, since they are just the AD700x/900x with a mic and I have no idea of what kind of sound signature OP likes

What do you think about the Audio-Technica ATH-PDG1 and the ATH-PG1?
Would they be worth it over the Game Zeroes perhaps?

takxD

The game zero is just a closed pair of HD 558 with a mic.

the ATH-PDG1 and the ATH-PG1 is a bit more tricky, they are most likely going to be one of the headsets with more focus on sound, but I have not tried them, so I am a bit unsure of the audio quality and I cannot seem to find what headphones they are made from, if there even is a pair of headphones they are made from. My best guess would be that they are similar to the M30x

- I'm just very upset with especially Steelseries. Nice to see a fellow Dane feeling the same :D

I haven't researched headsets yet since I think it's an invest that's more than 6months away.
I just noticed the PDG1/PG1 the other day, and when you mentioned the ADG1-X/AG1-X (and the zeroes) I went and compared them quickly to each other - I did notice the bigger drivers in the ADG's :)

I didn't get a chance to listen to the Game Zeroes but I really disliked how they felt :/ They felt a bit cheap, but was comfy to wear.
And thanks for noting that they're the same as the HD 558.
And thanks for the quick answer and great input :)

Well I am not really upset with Steelseries, they have some good products, but they have no idea how to make sound products. I have always found Steelseries to be a bit expensive for what you get.

Also Sennheiser has a great warranty, but yeah they are a bit cheaply made.

I would recommend that you start with finding what kind of sound signature you like. There are so many different headphones and headsets and they all sound different, some has a boosted bass, some boosted treble, some boosted mids, some a mix.

Yeah, I really need to try some proper headphones or a headset - I'm still not sure what kind of signature I'd like, since I really have no reference points.
I only own a Siberia V2, and a set of In Ear Sony MDR-EX650AP. I love my in-ears :x
I guess I have to start hanging out at a local speaker shop, and test some headphones.
I honestly didn't know there would be sets with boosted mids/treble and/or a mix of either.

I think I'd like a neutral sound stage, if there's anything like that.
I don't use equalizers while listening to music, since I stream most of my music in high quality - "I'd rather hear it like the artist intended it to be, rather than how my preset makes it sound".
I love how the Siberia makes techno sound - But damn that bass for everything else :/

sound stage and sound signature is not the same thing. Sound signature is about how they sound.

There is something called neutral, that would be headphones like K612 and HD600, the Sony MDR-7506 are also a bit neutral, but they have a bit boosted bass and treble, not a lot.

Sound stage is hard to explain. A big sound stage would make the sound feel less like it is in the middle of your head and more like you are there IRL, where a small sound stage would make everything happen in the middle of your head.

Yes the best way to find out what you like would be to try headphones.
