I had a random thought. The Cyberpower's Syber Vapor appears to have mostly full desktop components. So those whom oh so unfortunately that purchased these steam machines ever decide to re-transition or elect to simply replace with a full desktop. Maybe a simply DIY video.

Honestly, I would love a video of someone taking a laptop that may have had a busted monitor which would be replace to be torn down and recreated into a mid-tower case. It is odd ideal, but just curious.

If you have a busted laptop just putting it inside of a case isn't worth it, it would be easier to just build a custom case for it, they don't use desktop components.

And there are several versions of steam machines that can be bought with windows on them. The alienware steam machine had this, and only had steamOS put on it after the steam machines launched.

Funny, because I have this Intel Socket G2 mobo sitting on a shelf in preparation for me to do just this once I retire my Sandy Bridge i7 2630QM laptop. :)

I'll be using the CPU, RAM, SSD and HDD from the original laptop for this build and will otherwise resell the laptops screen, mobo and such on eBay for those who need spare parts
