That corsair one you linked is an AF series fan. Its not designed for radiators. Have no fear though, they have red SP120's as well that ARE better designed for radiators. Tough to say which would be better as I do not have the specs for both fans, but the actual cooling difference between two medium performing fans shouldn't be more than a couple of degrees, so just pick up whichever one you want.

If you want red LED's in your case, go corsair (or anyone else or any other colour). If you don't want to spend the extra money, then don't feel obligated to do so.

Both AF120 and SP120 LED's would be worse than the stock BS Double Batwing fans which seem to be an iteration of their T.B silence or Magma Advance design. Swapping to those fans would probably result in more noise and possibly worse performance.

Perhaps. But actual the difference may not be as much as you think. I myself have Sp120's on my H100i V2 and they're not all that loud and my cooling performance is fine enough. He might want aesthetics over minimal performance/acoustic difference. switching fans isn't a massive performance difference, and acoustically he will be fine enough unless hes really picky.

Aesthetics are subjective and just about anything can be justified in the name of it. How much of a difference it ends up being will depend on how sensitive the user is to noise and how much heat needs to be dissipated. I wouldn't call the difference in noise minimal. That might be the case moving from SP120L's to SP120 LED's but it wouldn't be the same going from the Batwings. Swapping fans on a rad can definitely make a notable difference in performance. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6391/120mm-radiator-fan-roundup-part-2-fan-harder/6

Corsair's new ML120 fans are Static pressure optimized but also can be very high airflow due to their high RPM capabilities all while being very quiet due to their Magnetic levitation bearings. I've not tried them personally but they look extremely well designed and have heard nothing but good things thus far.

they can be found Here (linked to amazon since yours were amazon links)

that chart to me does show its minimal. the SP120 quiet and SP120 performance are the same fan, just run at different maximum speeds. Any difference you are seeing in those charts can easily be nothing more than fan speed. and since fan noise is largely a function of fan speed, your performance is going to be handicapped by whatever noise tolerance you have, no matter which fan you have. If you ran all those fans at the same or similar RPM, that chart would be MUCH closer together. There are obviously bad fans and obviously there are poorly optomized fans. but all things being equal you're going to be within around 5-ish degrees of any other fan on the market at the same noise level (unless you compare the absolute worst fans out there to some of the best fans out there in order to prove a point, then all bets are off.)

And I'm not saying fans make 0 difference, and there are certainly people whose budget allows them to afford premium level fans in order to milk every last drop out of their system (or to allow it to run a bit quieter). but if this guy is after red LED fans hes doing it for aesthetics... there is no reason to go after red LED's otherwise. to that end the noise/performance difference between SP120 and stock Enermax isn't going to be major.

The Quiet Editions are quieter than PE's at the same rpm and the LED versions are significantly worse than the ringed ones used in the test. 5c isn't a small difference in any case and can mean the fan will ramp up to maintain the same temperature. The motor design determines how a fan sounds and not just the rpm.

The difference probably wouldn't be huge but that was the original question.

You sure do a lot of agreeing with me despite your insistence to argue about it... I'm going to back out of this thread now because its going nowhere.

red SP120 is better because its pretty (do not get the AF120 you linked there)

Enermax Stock fans perform slightly better, according to @WoodenMarker

That is what you make your decision upon. looks or performance?

That's because you made a lot of points--the second is half of your post is what I had agreed with.
