How can i improve my cooling on my PC

Hi guys,

I want to improve my MSI R9 390's temp as they are extremely high 90c, im underclocking aswell.

Just got my case  a Corsair 760T Black.

So airflow shouldn't be a problem.

But how am i going to improve my temps of my gpu without a liquid gpu cooler.

Must i buy more fans? Or must i buy a liquid cooler(Corsair h100i GTX) for the top exhaust, would that improve the temps?

What do u guys suggest i do?

I have about $250 to mod my case with anything thst would improve temps etc.

How many fans are in your case? What kind of configuration are they set in - positive pressure, neutral pressure, or negative pressure? Have you ever changed the thermal paste on your GPU? Have you ever cleaned the dust off the heatsink fins? What is the fan curve currently set at?

What are your ambient temps? What is your current cooling setup? Only the stock fans? You could consider the Kraken G10 and some fitting AIO

I remember you,

an AIO won't change your GPU temp, unless you put it on the GPU and not CPU (kraken G10 + Corsair H55 for exemple)

the cheapest trick is to put a fan at the bottom of your case as intake

I would recommend just upgrading the cooler to another aftermarket off of amazon (Such as the Arctic Coolers)

 About 30 degrees celcuis.

3 hours ago, Dan Castellaneta said:

That's unusual. You should really be around 75C or so, and not in the 90s.

What's your fan curve?

My fans run at 100% but its on auto.

The GPU cooler

Plus, a GTX cooler won't work. Its an AMD GPU.

H100I GTX is good, your CPU temp will decrease, case too, but GPU will only decrease by a few degrees, not enough

Ok, so what would u guys reccommend me doing? Get a H100I GTX as top exhaust? Maybe that will improve airflow? I really dont want get a GPU cooler, i will probably upgrade my gpu in 2 years, i just want to mod my case, with fans or a liquid cpu cooler etc.

Have any ideas?

Would u say another Liquid cooler will do a better job or not? And i would like know how i can improve the cooling evne futher without the Liquid Gpu cooler.

Thanks

Ok i think of going with a Corsair H100i GTX, im not sure im taking the gpu cooler, ill just order a MSI 1070 in place of it.

Just a question does the cpu coolet take alot of power?

Yes but don't u think a corsair H100i GTX will cool my CPU better than my DeepCool Gammaxx 400

Don't upgrade to a 1070, You'll get more power, but there's no need for it with your current card. Just buy a new case and more fans, maybe a A10

first of all, keep your CPU cooler and apply some GELID thermal paste on your CPU.

If temps are still high, think about buying and AIO (and you will still use the therman paste anyway so it's not a bad idea to buy it)

THEN you see how warm is your GPU. If it's better, problem solved. If it's still above 80°C, reduce overclocking. If its still hot, there is a problem (you have MSI Twin fans don't you ? it is supposed to cool very well). If it's cool, overclocking causes it. If you want to keep overclocking, buy Kraken G10 + Corsair H55 (easy to install) or a new card
