Is it worth it to buy a camera

EliasRC

I have  a galaxy s7 and am wondering if there is any camera for under 200$ that would be an improvement?

Thanks

It depends on your personal preference. If you are shooting things that are far away from you, should get a camera, else S7 will suffice all your basic photography needs. I hope it helps.

You can get basic lens kits (including optical zoom) for phones. Most flagship phones now put most point and shoot cameras to shame now, so if you want to get something that's worthwhile, you'll have to start stepping into DSLR territory and learning how to work a camera.

I'm a firm believer that image quality is mostly dependent on the photographer, rather than the gear. Although optical zoom is nice.

Unless you want to learn how to use a DSLR for the Art of Photography, no. Point-and-shoots do not replace flagship phone cameras these days.

Even if you do, ~400 is about the "used DSLR with cheap lens" cost.
