How overpriced are these new AER fans from NZXT?

Was thinking about getting a 3 pack of 140s. I already have the Hue+ controller.

Is it worth it? I mean, it's $90 on fans...

Wow, Linus was right about RGB lighting, it's truly the herpes of PC building.

Inconceivably, especially because the HUE controller is sold separately. That's another $30-50 on top of the fans unless you already have it hooked up.\

Still, that's ridiculous.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

If you really want RGB fans then go for it. If you just want performance just pick up some AF12's

It would be $160 to fully outfit my case with those fans. NOPE.

OP, yes they're overpriced. You'd have to care A LOT about looks to go for those.

RGB has nothing wrong, it's the actual big companies that sells them. You can get decent RGB strips with those shitty (only downside) controllers but they're only like $20 for 10meters plus the power supply and control box/controller so...

If you like them enough, sure. I looked into getting some riings for a little bit, but after a while something clicked and I thought "What was I thinking?".  Kind of the same realization I had with the note 7.

Not worth it, unless you REALLY care about looks and lighting.

Let's face it, is $90 really worth it for RGB case fans? They don't cool any better than regular fans, they're just blinged up. You'd have to be pretty shallow.
