Can my 32-bit Win7 support the Sapphire Radeon RX 460 2GB Graphics card ?

R3-Flex

I just bought my new RX 460 , waiting for my new DVI cable to arrive , on the box i read that it needs a 64 bit OS to operate ? does this mean that it wont work with my PC ?

AMD hasn't released x86 drivers for RX4xx series

if your CPU is x86-64 capable, you'd have to switch to a x86-64 OS

Why not just install 64-gb windows 7?

You cannot use that card on a 32-bit OS. The card requires the 64-bit version drivers, which the RX series only has available for it.

You can just re-install Windows if you have the key and use the 64-bit option.

The cards will work just fine on 32 bit operating systems, including Windows 7 and newer.

The box probably says that 64 bit operating systems are recommended.

You can download the drivers here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

When i assembled my current PC (which was 6 years ago) , they installed 32bit Win7 on it , now since then i have reinstalled the OS 2 times , i never knew that my Motherboard supported 64-bit OS , (i still am not sure) , so yeah , that's why.

The key can be used on both versions.

Who installs 32-bit on anything anymore!? Unless you installed it, in which case, who told you to install 32-bit?

Pretty sure anything supports anything for the most part, you can also just use windows 10 for free if you really wanted to, just download the ISO, though I much prefer windows 7 over 10

I'm not very tech savvy , i saw that i had 32-bit OS before formatting (2 yrs ago), so i chose 32-bit reinstall.

The truth is , i wanted to buy a new Gaming pc all together and sell my current machine, but my life kinda changed in the last 2 years (in a good way) so i just decided to switch the GPU and focus on something else first(My Studies)

I'll buy a gaming pc in a few years , with my own money , it feels awkward to ask money from parents anymore.

Should support it just fine, but damn 775 man, what's your CPU?

Could always jump to an i3 6100 at some point
