Joke to make to non-techies

Jerped

A good place for evenyone to list their best joke they made to non-techy people.

Here I start: Told my girlfried that flipping her laptop will make the screen auto-rotate to stay in the right position.

She actually did it (We were on skype, so I saw the webcam go upside down) and the expression of disapointment on her face was priceless :D

Did the same thing with my sister two days after. This joke is the best hahahahahaha

if you put your PC upside down it will work backwards and provide power as you use it!

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

I changed the league of legends link on my friend's laptop to point to the screen melter program. Later that evening he contacted me saying "omg my screen is literally melting". I had a good laugh with that one. The next day I told him the truth but he had already reinstalled the game xD

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

How many non-techies does it take to change a stick of RAM?

One, to take it to Geek Squad and throw away money.

Someone once asked me what liquid cooling is for a pc. I told them that liquid cooling is when you pump gasoline into your computer and it cools it. They asked if that would fry the computer and I told them it wouldn't because gasoline isn't conductive.

They told me that it sounded interesting and they may try it when they get older...

Wow you guys got really good pranks hahahahaha

Here is another one:

1. Put the screen upside down (alt+arrow key)

2. Make a print screen.

3. Put the screen back correctly

4. hide the desktop icons

5. make the print screen as the desktop wallpaper

6. put the screen upside down again.

You should end up with the wallpaper in the right orientation, no clickable icons and a mouse inverted ;)

To make it more devious, you can also put the taskbar in the top (unlock it, grab and drop on top of the screen)

Whole process takes maximum 1 minute after some practice. I also save the wallpaper as troll.png on the desktop :D

Just means, you what mate? Somebody says, "I'm going to steal your cookies" and you reply with a challenging attitude "You what mate?" Sort of the american version of "The fuck you mean?"

Wouldn't the American version be "the fuck you mean?" or a similar phrasing of it?

Also why would you steal my cookies?  ?  lol

Ah I see, lol. I was thinking "but that's what I wrote" and went back to read what I wrote - I was writing one thing, changed my mind and re-wrote it without changing the sentence lol. whoops :-) but yea the fuck you mean Is the american version lol.

Going to try this on my parts guy, he always blames his PC for stuff arriving late so it's justified.  Will post CCTV footage of the outcome.

  1. Create a new shortcut on desktop
  2. Call it chrome.exe
  3. Write this:  shutdown.exe /s /t 00
  4. Download a Chrome icon from online
  5. Change the icon of the shortcut to Chrome
  6. Replace the user's real chrome shortcut with the new one
  7. Enjoy the repeated shutdowns 60 seconds after clicking 'chrome'
