Skylake or Kaby Lake?

6700k and 7700k are same thing, but 7700k is more power efficient. So I don't think it's worth.

Just buy skylake now. Kaby Lake wont come to desktops until early next year, and it will still be on the same socket.

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

Well Kabby Lake doesn't exist in stores yet, so obviously Skylake is the only option.

Just like last round with Haswell or Skylake...

Kaby Lake is more for mobile than for desktops. There's no real reason to upgrade or bother trying to go for the newest stuff if the current gen is equally good. I say go for skylake unless KL has some CRAZY benefit. :P

The efficiency improvements are the only really noteworthy things about KL that you'll notice over anything Skylake provides. :P It's the truth.

Have you even checked the news around the internet in the past weeks? Kaby Lake was already reviewed on Notebookcheck.net a week or two ago... this isn't anything new. The information regarding KL is out on the internet as we speak. Hell LINUS and NICK both literally just did a giveaway maybe a week or two ago with a pair of RAZER laptops and one of which was sporting a KL ULV CPU.

Besides, Kaby Lake is super efficient compared to Skylake. And if you want the review regarding KL then here you go:

While not officially announced, according to many reliable sources and "leaks" out there...

There will be a Kaby Lake X coming out in 2H 2017, which appears the be the same mainstream 4 core 7700k chip but with the 2066 socket rather than the 1151. And also run on the new enthusiast chipset.

Which is interestingly the same socket and chipset as the Skylake-E CPUs. So it appears intel may be trying to move the "k" series overclocker chips up into the enthusiast platform, which will then support both the latest kaby lake architecture and also the 6+ core Skylake-E chips simultaneously.

Not sure what this means for the regular 1151 Kaby Lake CPUs.
