There is nothing they really need to get together, their stock is being raised and they're making plenty of money.

Yeah, though there's still the physical limitation, stores only have so much storage area.

 

Another reason they might be "Out of stock" is so they can raise prices due to high demand and "low" supply, and with the "low" supply, people will rush to buy the device right when it becomes available again.
