I am trying to overclock my 8350...i have a black edition so i can change both fsb and multiplier but which one gives more performance?

i want both single core performance and multicore performance and i dont want to turn off my cores because DX12 and vulkan can now use all cores...

i have a deepcool maelstrom captain 120 AIO cooler and can run upto 4.8ghz with max temps at about 60c

so what should i change FSB / multiplier / or a combination of both ?

And please tell me what increases the single core performance FSB or Multiplier

They both increase the speed, but I would use BCLK because that increases your RAM speed also.

Change the multipler, the fsb is a pain to change and you have to change the memory speeds an ht to only oc the cpu.

Just OC all cores.

Id only change the multipler.

Clock is fsb X multipler, so both will improve the performance, but id only change the multipler.

i dont have issues with getting a fsb OC stable but does it improve anything over multiplier OC ?

But when i overclock with only fsb or only multiplier at same clock speeds there is some difference in geekbench and 3dmark scores

Yes, because you are increasing your RAM speed with FSB and with the multiplier you are not.

If you're really wanting to push it, set the FSB to 205-208 (whatever you chip can handle), then crank the multiplyer up to just over the 5.0Ghz mark.  That cooler, assuming its clean and has good airflow, should be able to keep it under 60c.  Just so you know 63 is the throttle point for the 8350 and 68 (or 73 I cant remember) is the system shut down point.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

It will increase the speeds of you chipset, the ram, the ht bus. You have to lower the multiplers of all the devices to increase the fsb succefully.

FSB is not a pain, I personally like it because it is more precise.

with higher ram speeds there is very least amount of fps increase

But there still is an increase, might as well use the FSB, that's what the AM2+/AM3+ platform was designed to use.

Well on my amd althon system, you have to change the ram multipler, the ht multipler, the northbridge mutipler with the fsb as those don't oc as well as the cpu will.

Never overclocked an AMD system in a while, but on my Intel BCLK systems this wasn't too much of a hassle.

That can introduce instabilities.

Correct, but then the OP could increase RAM Voltage/ Decrease RAM Multiplier. He/She could also try a combination of both.
