If Comcast bought T Mobile, they would destroy everything that T Mobile built. This is a bad news bears situation. Id have to find a new provider.

I'm not  American, but we do have T-Mobile where I live (no Comcast though), so I wonder if that T-Mobile would change at all if this happened.

I'm not from America too, but we have T-Mobile which is basically the same as Deutsche Telekom.

The Telekom is pretty big in Germany, and i think they are in some other countries too.

I wonder if Telekom will be affected too.

I'm sure DT wouldn't be affected. DT is the main shareholder of T-Mobile US via T-Mobile International, and seeing how Comcast works only in the US, DT wouldn't be in the merger, only T-Mobile US, and I personally find it hard to believe that the Merer would happen.

If you see a magenta T somewhere, DT has their fingers in it, and they are big in more than a dozen countries.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

Well, AT&T basically owns Comcast (56%), so it makes sense.

I've got Metro PCS and they're not too bad. No contracts or faffing about.

Metro is owned by T Mobile, so you would be affected by this.

Comcast is the largest Cable Co. in the US. They are greedy bastards. The only positive things Comcast has done, was IPv6 penetration and Docsis 3.1 testing and upgrading. As far as the Docsis 3.1 goes, who knows how long they will take to upgrade their whole network. It could take years.

Deutsche Telekom wants T Mobile sold. They tried to a few years ago when ATT wanted to buy, but the Government said no. Then Sprint tried to buy, and the Government said no. Softbank, whom owns Sprint is still pushing for buying T Mobile, but I dont think they will get it. The only reason they will allow Comcast, is Comcast doesnt own any cell providers. So, their would be the same amount of competition in the market.

Not sure where your getting your info, but like NO. ATT doesn't have a majority share. That would pop up in Financial record and I found no mention of ATT.

I'm ignorant in this subject.

Whats the big deal with Comcast having a cell network?  I read the article, and I still don't get it.

The big deal is Comcast literally bends every one of their customers over each month and makes them take it with out lube. Comcast will destroy everything that T Mobile has built, they will run T Mobile like Verizon runs its wireless division. Prices will be outrageous and data caps. At that point, I might as well pay the premium for Verizon service.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Huh. I see.  I guess I don't notice because I've had a Verizon phone for the last 2 years.

I'm fine with my bill. It's about $60 for 3GB. I generally use 2 - 2.5GB.

ATT doesnt own them. ATT shareholders do. Shareholder are not the ATT corporation. They are the owns who own the stock. Shareholders aka stock holders are different then the company its self. ATT management has not say in what Comcast does. ATT effectively split that part of their company off and Comcast took it in. The shareholders on each side, got stock. Shareholder equals Stockholder. Stockholders own a company, but dont really have a say in the day to day operations. The management team is the ones who run the company. One of their jobs is to keep the stock price climbing and make profit. So ATT doesnt own shit, their shareholders do. There is a big difference. According to what I read, ATT spun a few businesses off in the early 2000's. Some of them were bought back and some of the others were picked off by other Companies.

"AT&T went through a corporate restructuring process in 2002, which called for AT&T Wireless, AT&T Business, AT&T Consumer, and AT&T Broadband all to become separate companies. Only AT&T Wireless was spun off (although repurchased later by AT&T), and AT&T Broadband was purchased by Comcast in November 2002." Via https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AT%26T_Broadband

Funny enough. My mom is with Verizon. I noticed their plans have become more affordable. My Bill with T mobile is $216. But its 4 lines for $100, plus insurance and financing on phones. So it comes up to about $25 a line. Not a bad deal. My mom is looking at moving to a data plan, because shes looking at getting a smart phone. She can get 4 gigs of data for the same price she is paying with a dumb phone. Thought that was interesting.

I'm confused. Are you comparing the bill to your four "dumb" phones without a data plan to a smart phone bill?

The way you worded it sure sounds that way.

I have a feeling you don't have all the details on what your mom is paying for. Also, the $216 doesn't make sense for "four lines for $100" with the information you gave.

But I get it; you're a kid who has some one else handling the money. You might not know all of the behind-the-scenes details.

No my mom has a dumb phone. On T Mobile we have 4 smart phones on a plan. The plan is 2.5 Gigs of Data, Unlimited Talk/Text $100. We have insurance and financed phones too, My sisters phone is about $28 a month and my about to be ex brother in laws phone is $25 a month. then you add all those taxes and insurances for each device. Which added the $116 dollars on. My mom can upgrade in to a plan with a smart phone and the plan will cost the same as her current plan.  In all when we split the bill, because I dont cover the whole thing, which is my account. I pay about $25 a month +tax and Insurance. My sister and about to be ex brother in law pay their portion and my dad pays his portion.

OH and dude Im 28 years old. Dont make assumptions on peoples age. Ill admit that I might have worded it weird, but dont think I dont know where my moneys going.

Your bill doesn't sound that much more of a special deal than anything else.  Not that it's a contest or anything; I don't really care. Like I said before, I'm fine with my bill and plan. I was just curious about yours because of what you said in your first reply to me.

As for assumptions... ehhh... on this forum... combined with sharing a cell phone plan with mom. Those two things usually lead to the likelihood of childhood. Granted, not this time, but family bill sharing too common around my geographic area. Whatever floats your boat. If a bulk package [of people] leads to a cheaper rate, I'm all for less spending.

Well at first I was only my own plan. Then my sister and about to be ex brother in law joined. After a while we got my dad to join as well. Ive seen working on getting my mom to come to the magenta side, but she more of a team red I guess. As it states T Mobile is cheaper, but Verizon has the better network. If Comcast buys T Mobile, Ill end up on Verizon I think, because I dont like Comcast. They will destroy what T Mobile has built just to make a few extra dollars.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
