Hello people,

 

So i have never tested a gpu before, i just bought them and assumed they were fine. However Ive just ordered a gtx 1080 and want to make sure its working as intended.

 

which of these is best for testing that its working as expected out the box?

Ok, I've heard various things about testing a new gpu, do you really need to leave the benchmark running for 24 hours? or is that mainly for checking an overclock?

do 1-2 passes with each benchmark - if you don't see anything out of the ordinary, it's probably OK

 

ps: use DDU to nuke the previous video drivers

24h is overkill or oversafety for any OC verification. Quick check would be 30min-1h (15min when you are looking for sweetspot), stability testing would be 2+h with various software. Just to check if card is working as intended, run each one time. Plus some others like Cinebench.
