great place to compare hardware is userbenchmarks.com. Coming from AMD to Intel I noticed a HUGE improvement going from a fx 6300 to a i7 6700k. The interesting thing was before I went from a FX 6300 awhile back i had a Phenom ii x 840 and it was only a 14% boost lol. If that give you an idea in terms of how the scale is.

if you don't already own that CPU, do yourself the favor and avoid trouble just get yourself an i5-4460/4590 or an i5-6400/6500 as it would end up costing about the same but will perform a lot better in games.
