How to fix internet dropping?

ok so basically my internet will drop off for about 10-30 seconds maybe once a day at most and idk why, how to fix??

First and only question for you: Who is your ISP and did they provide you with a Modem/Router combination unit?

Alternatively, please list your modem and router make and model below.

I know that cable modems have a set standard of what signal quality is needed to keep you connected. There is a possibility that your signals are on the edge of acceptable. Temperature can affect the signal traveling over coax by 3db or so. It could be that maybe your on the edge at through out the day your signal is changing to a point that your outside the operational limits. This is assuming you have cable internet. 

 

I do know that DSL has similar limits, just not sure how to diagnose a DSL modem. What time of day does your internet drop out? Because I know that late at night Comcast my ISP some times does maintenance. Such as pushing new firmware and config files to modems and such. It could be something as similar as that. If its random, then I would write down the times and check you modems log if you can. Cable modems tend to use the address 192.168.100.1. Typing that in to a web browser brings up the modems page. You can check signal levels and check logs. Even DSL modems I would assume have some kind of logging.

 

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
