I just upgraded my ram to 8 gigs but i happen to have two 1 gig sticks of ddr3 1333mhz ram that i could put in. the ram i got is https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x4GB-1600MHz/dp/B00J8E93G6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474511634&sr=8-1&keywords=fury+x+ddr3+8gb+kit. so should i stick with 8 gigs or should i thow in the other two so i can get a total of 10 gb of ram?

If you can fit more add more, it will however make all your RAM run at 1333mhz instead of 1600 as it adopts the speed of the slowest installed.

Ryzen 5 1500X @ 3.9GHz On 1.3625V | MSI B350M Gaming Pro | 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 3200MHz | 3GB MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 2063MHz Core 9408MHz Mem | EVGA G2 550W | 250GB Samsung 850 EVO | Windows 10 Home 64-bit Version 1903 (Build 18362.295) | MasterCase Pro 3

most people have told me though that the ram speed matters less than the amount. obviously 8gb of ddr4 will perform better then 32gb of ddr but you get the point

I would run it. In all likelihood it will even run in Dual Channel, just at the lower 1333mhz. More RAM is more important than faster RAM at this level.

Black Knight-

Ryzen 5 5600, GIGABYTE B550M DS3H, 16Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000mhz, Asrock RX 6800 XT Phantom Gaming,

Seasonic Focus GM 750, Samsung EVO 860 EVO SSD M.2, Intel 660p Series M.2 2280 1TB PCIe NVMe, Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon

Daughter's Rig;

MSI B450 A Pro, Ryzen 5 3600x, 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000mhz, Silicon Power A55 512GB SSD, Gigabyte RX 5700 Gaming OC, Corsair CX430

I have a generic 2gb kingston 1333mhz paired with 8gb hyperx fury 1866mhz, it runs at 1333 by default but i manually set it to 1600(limit of my cpu). Both(8gb+2gb) runs at 1600mhz on dual channel.
