Gaming Laptop

If you game on battery, yes the battery life would only last at max 1-2 hours (getting around 1.5 hours on gaming by itself is already a great achievement), if you turn on the fans to max yes the noise absurd but under non-gaming load, the noise are not that high and speaking of the 2GB vs 4GB on a GTX 960M... Even for a game like Dota 2, it won't even get past 2GB VRAM and since it is a 960M, chances of it utilizes the whole 4GB VRAM is really really low unless if you're opening multiple graphically demanding stuffs simultaneously.

1 - No, gaming on battery on the GL62 gets you 25 mins of life at most - it's an extremely small battery and the BIOS does not handle power consumption well
2 - I don't regard 50dB as normal for a 960M laptop when most get only 44dB or less and considering sound does NOT scale linearly, that's a massive spike.
3 - oh, you really want to argue about VRAM? Let me tell you something, I've OWNED that same GPU (860M and 960M are both 750 Ti rebrands) for a year - 2GB is worthless considering I've maxed all 4GBs on mine. Stop giving bad advice to people - it's their money you are wasting.

Acer sucks...I had overheating problems after a year of usage. The laptop turned even automaticly off.

It was hitting around 90 degrees when gaming.

Sent the laptop 3 times to the manufacturer.

They replaced the HDD with a new one. Didnt solve my problem and I told+gave this info to them (face to face they even wrote it down in on their pc!!) Then I sent it a second time....they replaced the new HDD with another new HDD...and you can guess the third time.

My laptop was gone for 1-2 months atleast.

I recommend the 7559 if and only if the budget is limited to 800$. As soon as you have 900$ - Lenovo Y700 or Asus GL552VW (grey model) - 7559 is a BUDGET solution.

What for? eGPU - that doesn't work. Most laptop OEMs don't support it and it's just not functional.

Dave says a lot of things - not every single one is correct. Lots of people cannot get it to work. Only XPS 15 has been stable enough to call functional (via gimmicks)

Good info, thanks

also, do you think that the  960m will be "good" in the future (good: 1080p - avg mid settings)

1080 low. In the next 2 years. Past that you'll have to drop it to 720p.
