Hi guys! I want to delete some packets from my computer. I have a Mac air Early 2015, which I learnt that people can see what I've done with my computer if they see my packets. I want to know how they can see what I've done by looking through my packets, how I can access my packets, and how I can delete them. Thanks!

-moved to networking-

I believe you might have heard or read some stuff and misunderstood, or not fully understood what it was talking about...

You'll want to probably clear your browsing history and cookies, as well as make sure you're on a secure connection that people can't "sniff", etc.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Packets are data sent from one computer to another, you don't store them directly or anything like that, they contain data which a computer will in turn take a build into a file if you're downloading something but the packets themselves aren't stored. Anybody can snoop on your network information if it's unencrypted and they know what they are doing.

ohhh, well I'll ask again after clarifying with my friend what kind of packets and what he means about ppl tracking with them. Thanks!

I think your friend is just mis-informed about how the internet works and how data is transmitted from one device to another and what all happens :) . Although they could mean something else which is possible but the only packet I know of is information transmitted from one device to another over a network.

Well, it's the IT, so they should know what they're doing... So full story here. My friend is a intern for our school It, and he told me they can see our history and stuff and what we did with packets. I would like a battery replacement from the IT but I got quite some private stuff in there, so yea. I'll just ask my friend again.

P. S. he told me that they tell ppl that they are 'searching for viruses' while looking thru ppl's private stuff xD

Yeah there is software like Wireshark that allows you to see what traffic (packets) is being sent over the network.

If you want to try and obscure that data you'll need to use a VPN, just do a quick google search on them.
