Either

 - Return the keyboard and get MX Browns, Reds, etc.

- Tell them to deal with it.

Well then you'll have to deal with their complaining.

Get a cheap and quiet membrane keyboard that you bring out and use during the night.

Why not just get these

http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/products/keyboard-accessories/cherry-mx-rubber-o-ring-switch-dampeners-125pcs.html

And dampen the sound of the keyboard some. Might help with noise. Maybe look at other sites for pricing, I just used WASDKeyboards because they sell alot of random keyboard stuff.

Tell them what they can go do to themselves.

return the keyboard is your only option... putting o-rings wont make that much of a difference. i'd swap it for browns

Skip to 44 seconds in, on a MX Blue switch with and without the o ring mod. Noticeable difference in sound. It's either that, deal with complaining, or return the thing. Take your pick OP.

You can buy o-rings to reduce the sound of the keys bottoming out, which is louder than the actuation sound.

Cherry clears? Has the tactile feel more like blues than browns and it's heavier so you're less likely to bottom out the keys :P

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

This works so damn well. I had this problem and I got some really cheap O-rings and worked like a charm
