Posted September 14, 2016 Olla Peps, I'm trying to edit 4.6k footage on my PC (Specs in image) and it's really, really choppy even VLC is struggling to play but Quicktime on my MacBook is perfectly fine. I mean my 2015 MacBook Pro playback and editing is smooth as butter. But for now, know that VLC does not play back 4K footage very well (depending on the codec), try playing with something like MPC HD. Still on the phone, since you're working with 4.6K footage I assume you are using an Ursa Mini or Ursa camera? How is your pc's storage system setup? SSD, HDD, separate for OS+Apps and project files? I know you're working off a network storage, I just want to know if you have the same issues if the video files were on a local drive instead.
