Downgrading Windows 10 Pro - Home

I have an un-activated version of windows 10 pro. I wanna buy a license of the regular edition instead. My questions are...

1. Can I activate an OEM key in "activate windows" tab and i will be downgraded to windows 10 home?

2. Do I have to remove the un-activated version of windows and than load up windows 10 home?

3. Do i just install windows 10 home and it merges and downgrades to windows 10 home?

Total dumb to what happens in this kind of situation, all though i have done installations and uninstallations of ubuntu on this PC if that counts for anything. I know how to setup, i'm just wondering if i should backup anything from my current windows type.

Why not just run windows 10 pro. It only adds features to the home wresion.

FYI, I have a separate package of Microsoft stuff for windows 10. the pro version i own is not activated. I want to install windows 10 home to replace it because i don't want to go out and pay the extra cost for some items i already own. So, I want to download windows 10 home, but I don't know how to do that with the currently un-activated windows 10 pro on my PC.

That's ok. If I have to go that far, it's fine. I just need guidance on how i should deal with this problem.

Ok well, first of all, you need to backup all your stuff. When you'll re-install Windows, everything in your C:\ drive/partition will be gone forever.

Once everything is backuped, now you just install Windows as you normally do.

To get Windows 10, you can use Microsoft Media Creation Tool (https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10 -- Click on the "Download tool now" blue button)

It will download the ISO of Windows 10 for you, and prepare a DVD or USB flash drive for booting with the downloaded Windows 10 on it.

Then simply boot to it (refer to the motherboard manual to know how to do this, if you don't know), it will load Windows 10 setup, once done, hit the Install button, and you just follow the wizard. You'll be greated at some point, asking you where you want to install Windows 10. Simply pick the partition that is, in size, suitable to have Windows (this will turn to be the C:\ drive once Windows is installed), hit format, and click on Next. Windows 10 will install, and it will restart , and start Windows 10 for the first time.
