Buying iPhone 7 from eBay?

patriotaki

hello all,

since in my country (Greece) the iPhones are going to be way more expensive than in US , im thinking getting an iPhone 7 Plus from eBay.

Do you recommend it, obviously im going to get it from a top seller with positive reviews, but is there any chance that it can get lost in shipping?

Also when the time item arrives in Europe do i have to pay any taxes or something?

Definitely look out for scammers. That should ALWAYS be the first thing when buying on eBay.

Secondly, import taxes are always a factor to consider when buying a product from overseas. They can go over $100 if you're not careful, but check here: http://www.dutycalculator.com/new-import-duty-and-tax-calculation/

Lastly, anything can get "lost" in transit. If your product doesn't arrive, then you'll have to cross that bridge when you come to it.

I say jiggly-bytes when I see "GB".

It goes down better than you would expect.

I've never ordered from ebay, but I've used aliexpress. If your order is labeled as it's original price (700$ is something) you'll pay taxes (VAT and stuff). If the seller labels it as a gift (9$), you won't pay anything. I never got something lost in shipping, but it can happen sometimes, but don't let that hold you back. Also, at least here in Romania, when your post arrives, you'll get a notice in the mailbox or even the phone.
