how to uninstall windows 98

my friend brought over a pc running windows 98 on it and im trying to wipe the hard drive and boot it with linux mint 32 bit with no success. I have tried booting it to bios, using a usb to boot it to linux mint, and used a linux mint dvd to boot it. None of it is working. All i want to do is wipe the hard drive so i can boot it up with linux mint.

You need to go into the BIOS or boot list to use Mint.

Out of curiosity, what are the specs?

You could always take a giant magnet and put it over the drive.

i cant get into the bios or boot list. i have tried f2, f5, f10, and f12.

didnt work. i held down the delete key and it booted right up

wont it just boot the other computer to windows 98? also the hard drive on that hard drive only has ribbon connections and my motherboard doesnt have any

no im using an apple keyboard. Its the only one i have. my parents both own macs. it uses usb 2.0
