Nickel CPU block, Silver coil alternative?

Mayhems makes some of the top stuff currently, similarly with EK. If you just want to keep the fluid as long as possible with the lowest possible maintenance getting a transparent fluid like EKWB EVO or Mayhems X1 fluid wouldn't be a bad idea.

I understand that Nickel and silver kill coil do not do well together. I am looking into getting the EK Supremacy Evo full nickel and wanted to ask what would be a good alternative to a silver kill coil? Also another question that was on my mind can a silver kill coil be used on a water cpu block that is nickel plated copper?

An anti corrosion/anti bacterial additive made for water cooling, a lot of premixed coolants come with this already mixed in.

Nickel and silver son't work well together, that included plated nickel blocks which all of them should be plated. For a fluid you can get premixed as mentioned or Petra's (clear) PT nuke which works well with copper.

So nickel plated copper is also not good with silver kill coil? Because I was kinda under the impression that it's actually copper the outside is nickel plated?

The outside is what contacts the fluid and thus will be an issue still.

Anyways just buy coolant premix.

Yes that is how all nickel block are manufactured with a copper base metal and nickel plating as it provides the best heat transfer, as mentioned since the nickel is in contact with he fluid that will still occur.

Hi, what about distilled water? what will i need to put in their? I have read online premix coolant is not as good as distilled water clogs up cpu,gpu blocks if you don't clean often.

The current top end pre-mix do not gunk up blocks (EK-Evo, Mayhems X1 etc). And perform within a degree or two of distilled water.

Distilled water also has a great deal of other issues that I would never personally recommend using it.

Not necessarily theses days fluids are pretty good in terms of lifespan to what it was back then, but as for distilled water you will want a biocide specifically Petra's (clear) PT nuke as the regular (blue) copper sulfate PT nuke can sometimes cause issues with the nickel.

Just to give you an idea I've used Mayhems Pastel white for over a year nearing 18months without any problems.

So which coolant is the best at the moment?

Mayhems makes some of the top stuff currently, similarly with EK. If you just want to keep the fluid as long as possible with the lowest possible maintenance getting a transparent fluid like EKWB EVO or Mayhems X1 fluid wouldn't be a bad idea.

So will i need any other stuff like PT nuke, silver kill coil in a premixed coolant? Or is everything already in there?

The premixed will have everything already included so no need for any of that, however most are in a concentrate form for ease of shipping and packing so you will need to mix it with distilled water to make a total of 1L of fluid from the concentrate.
