The cpu will probably struggle, I'd say get a cheaper case and spend the difference on an i5 6500 or something.

Lays is right. You should probably go with an i5 6600 or 6600k(if you want to overclock it). Your build seems pretty cool and you really shouldn't compromise with your CPU.

Thanks! I'll save up for a 6500 probably... And about the GPU... Am I good with the RX480 4GB version? Say with a 6500 and 8gb ram ddr4

I had this PSU because of the R9 480.  You could drop it to a Seasonic M12ii 520W if you go with the GTX 1060.

Thanks! A few questions...

1060 over the 480, isn't the 480 going to be better in the future with DX12 and Vulkan?

The CPU fan, I though it wasn't needed if not overclocking...

I would not be surprised if the 480 is all around faster 1-2 years down the road, but not by much.  For now, the GTX 1060 is faster all around and can do a small boost when certain aspects of DX12 or Vulcan are introduced.

It is a much better value for now and the foreseeable future.

@Noel Cresencio

Oh, and the CPU...  A quad core is the bare minimum for a well rounded gaming PC.  It is not the high clock speed, but the 4 cores capable of running 4 threads independently.

Hyper Threading on the i3 will not work as a quad core.  Two cores and two "helpers".

If you wanna get technical pretty much nothing runs star citizen good right now, the game is a long ways from release and needs tons of optimization.

If that is the plan than just wait :)

If you need it for other things just get the cheapest 480/1060 you can get your hands on. a GPU upgrade is simple enough and if you ensure you have a good enough CPU etc to handle it things will be fine down the road. Look at how many people still run Sandy bridge CPUs and do just fine.

Also if you want to get things cheaper don't be afraid to buy second hand, I know people don't like it, but truly it can save you quite some money and the components will be just fine. My last 6-7 GPUS have all been second hand units without any issues :)

Ask in 2 years again when this game comes out maybe?

it's not out yet. And the alpha version at the momen has serious Performance issues.

This "game" has been in developement for 4 years now, and is no closer to being released. I would seriously doubt if its ever being released

Or it might end like No Man's Sky. ^^

They've raised $140 Million to make this game, and all thats really available are tech demos. Seriously, Kerbal did way more with way less.
