ARK developer is under fire for releasing DLC for their early access survival game, it costs almost as much as the base game...

I'm really salty about this. I'm a MASSIVE ark fan. I have 450 hours in game and 1300 something posts on their forums. 

This is Such a shitty move from WC. They delayed finishing of the actual to release a paid fucking Dlc... I hope this backfires horribly.

Once they make their game get proper framerates on expensive hardware, we can discuss paying them for a freaking DLC before the game is actually released.

I loved ARK but now i know why the updates and the content in the updates became less when it was at some point, and thats when they decided to work on this  dlc "expansion". They still didnt fulfill promises that they have on their "a little further out"(in which some of the things are over 6 + month old)  patch notes and the game is is still unoptimized and and instead working on that they decided well lets earn some more people who are waiting for optimization can wait more.

While is an odd choice and I understand the upset, it's a huge chunk of new content beyond what they planned on inserting into the base game. Doing what they do is expensive. Especially after that lawsuit, which was a super shitty situation, they need money.

 

I personally love ARK and will be picking this up.

I recall them saying it was going to be additional content, not a new biome in the main game. Either way, vote with your wallet if you're that against it.

For an early access game it's incredibly feature-rich(much more than some AAA releases) and the whole "Almost as expensive as the base game" kind of falls flat on the fact the base game is at about 30 and asking 20 for an expansion is pretty much the average rate.

Sure some companies use EA to hide poor development or to try and fleece customers (infact I'd concede that more do than don't) but not all of them.

Ah, Dirt Rally... Bought it for quite a lot of money and then played basically none of it, I should really try and get into it  Is it really that good?

Well it's no Colin McRae but compared to the tripe that Dirt ended up being yes, it's a good rally simulator.

It's not about it being fixed or not, it's about them saying fuck you to the community and releasing a cash grab expansion for a game in Early Access.
