My Smallest Origami Cranes

BingoFishy

My cranes.jpg

In order, from left to right: 40mm, 20mm, 8mm, 6mm. Yes, the 20mm is kinda bad but I don't feel like making another one and taking another photo. US Nickel for scale, it's just over 2cm in diameter. I used no tools, everything is by hand.

Nice! How long does it take you to do one of those and how long have you been doing it?

The smallest one can probably be done in ~15 minutes or less, I did it in math class so I had to do other things too. I've been origami-ing for a while but haven't done much recently, just came back from a long break. Making origami stuff is really satisfying, you should give it a shot if you don't already.

I used to do beginners origami as a child, until my pad of 3000 paper squares ran out. Then I never bought anymore.

Patchwork origami was my favorite, where each pece of paper makes interlocking patches which you then combine together into mega origami.

Yeah, those are cool. 3,000 is a lot! Might be helpful to know that sticky notes work great, even if they do have a sticky section. They're perfect squares. The blue cranes in the  picture were all made of I think one sticky note, with plenty to spare.
