(Sorry if this is the wrong forum.)

After seeing a video in which someone (I think 8 bit something) put a bunch of flash drives in RAID, and hearing about an old Oracle PC that ran on an optical disc, it occurred to me that it might be an interesting experiment to string together a couple of optical drives in RAID for performance. Purely experimentally of course. 

Have you heard of this ever being done? I imagine its possible. 

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

Just do it with USB drives, much easier.

I wanted to do it with ODs. That was the whole point.

I don't think RAID even works with optical drives.
