Ahhhhhh, norwegians.... not much different from us canadians xD my friend brought in his computer that he dropped and  expected me to repair a cpu that was bent.

Haha I'm not that bad with computers :P This computer is close to 5 years old now (in October), and I've upgraded the parts as I've seen fit. I've usually managed to solve all of my own computer problems by myself, but this time there's something else. I'll go to bed now and try fix the computer again tomorrow. Hope you can assist me some more, and thank you very much for replying! I really do appreciate it :)

The specs are:

i7 2600k

msi z77a-gd65
samsung 840 ssd 250gb
msi gtx 1070

corsair cx750m

Have you tried reformatting your bootable USB?

Did you use a creation tool to format the usb?

Is it formatted FAT32?

Have you successfully launched the Windows installer yet on this computer?

EDIT: You'll need to use your motherboard's legacy mode if you're attempting a windows 10 installation.  MBR will not work on UEFI.

That could work too, but he should be able to use his drive's MBR in legacy mode if he wanted too.  Ehhh, as long as he can boot from the USB (that's what I was trying to verify).
