The AMD hype train

Prysin

Can you people just calm yer damn tits? shits getting way outta hand around here and all you are going to achieve is dissappointing the shit out of the product by overestimating it grossly. Same applies to VEGA.

ZEN is a stepping stone. It is not a instant competitor. It is a "NOS" injection to catch up, they still doesnt have the horsepower to WIN.  ZEN+ is the real "competitor" to intel. understand that.

No thanks, it's a lot more fun watching people get all butthurt when their dreams of AMD trashing Intel come to a grinding halt and they start questioning their existence in this world.

True story, meh I use an AMD CPU and GPU, who cares, it works :)

Oh what's that? I can't hear you over the GTX480 and a 4770k running off the intel stock cooler...Oh I'm sorry, my other PC seems to have a ASUS hawaii based card in it, only if the other 2 heatpipes were touching the die so it's not as hot as the reference cooler or almost as noisy :P

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

the real question is why you're getting so salty over it?

i'm looking forward to zen with the same healthy expectance as i always do, and from what i've seen it may be a defenate competitor for a place in my new server.

and from what i've seen on the forum, most other people are as well.

salty, no not really. I expect ZEN to be a massive "MEH", rather then a huge "BANZAI"... ZEN+ however. that i am excited about

EDIT: also, you forget WHO you are talking to. I think you will find few people in these forums more "PRO" AMD then i tend to be. However i am also realistic. I dont expect gold when all i see is gray rocks.

Hype train seems to be on time.

The decent fucking drivers train however? That shit's like 4 or 5 months late as usual.

No, the decent driver train is a bullet train without a schedule. Sometimes you catch it, other times it just shoots by.

EDIT: seems like both "major" vendors drivers are working OK atm. GTX 950 and R9 295x2/A10 7870k isnt showing any signs of issues. Intel HD however. Dont get me started

from the stuff they showed in leaks, i'm actually looking forward to some 3rd party benchmarks on the actually released product.

my server is falling apart, and because it already has an i7 4770 in it there's nothing really exciting in the intel lineup, so if this chip proves to be at least up to par with haswell, it may become my new workhorse. (the clock speed is not my immediate concern, but from their claims on IPC it may be pretty mch exactly the part i want.)

and sometimes it "bullets" a bit too hard and wrecks shit :P

what did they "wreck" this time? the same as Nvidia wrecks every two weeks (aka non gaming stuff)

well, i havent had nvidia driver issues since i made the switch from my HD5770 to my GT640 (which is now in my server)

i've even went as far as testing what people called "this game on this update is broken for everyone" with no luck, seemingly i have the jesus install of nvidia drivers...

the only issue i had was when my upgrade to win10 went wrong, and i was running a mixture of windows 8.1 and win10 for a while, and nvidia drivers had no idea what was going on xD

intel was a honestly quite reliable failover while i was figuring out the horrors of "windows 9" :P

yes, they reliably fail.

anyway, back on topic. ZEN and VEGA isnt going to be "magical" and people should start realizing this before their dreams are crushed.

Also, as a sidenote. If you have a negative look on things, you can only be positively surprised.

I heard a rumor that AMD will literally cure cancer if you buy a system with Zen and Vega inside it, as well as make 10 negative posts about Nvidia and Intel.

the children is what we feed our AMD products.

AMD improved power efficiency by using less electricity, instead you get this special hopper connected to the CPU or GPU in question where you have to continuously feed human sacrifice. Chilrden makes for great sacrifice, as they dont put up as much of a fight as adults.
