$200 Headphone recommendation?

My friend has a budget of $200, and she will be using them for music and audiobook listening mostly. On-Ear headphones are preferable. Any recommendations?

I think thats harsh, they are far from the worst headphones and its not like they are $500 insanely priced things

 

They are "decent" without being necessarily the best

They are also not the best headphones for the price, when you look at  comfort, audio quality and build quality.

I agree, but if somebody bought them, im sure they would still be happy with them overall

no they are not, if they were then they would be in the pinned post about headphones and I would have given them a much better review. I am using them right now, the treble is a bit harsh and not very good, the mids are muddy, the bass is decent and the comfort is bad.

I know and I want them so badly, but they are super expensive here in Denmark, they cost 605$ in Denmark and I got the M50, before I was in to audio and on sale and now I just want to get rid of them and get the PM3 or P7

Yeah teh P7s are super light and suprisingly comfy, although im not a huge fan of the asthetics

OP get the Sennhesier momentum, they look really nice and clean and they have good audio quality at the same time. I am sure that she would love them.

$200 is a lot of dough to spend on headphones for some occasional music and audio books. I would spend around $100 at most. And it would probably something like a Bose Soundtrue (On-ear or Over-ear, pick one). I know the sound quality is nothing special, because Bose isn't known for their sound quality. But they're comfy as hell and they look good too. The Over-Ear model actually goes over the ear, this is sadly an achievement. Most Over-Ear headphones (especially the M50x and the Momentum) don't actually go over the ear, so you get a pinching sensation on your ear after some time. 

 

The Sennheiser Momentum sounds really good, but it clamps your head really hard and pinches your ears. Look, I am just saying that comfort is too often overlooked by good sound quality. 

 

The Audio Technica M50x is a horrible suggestion. They sound pretty good, but they're massive, not very comfortable and you look like an Airplane pilot wearing these on. Not exactly fashionable. 

 

Heck I would even recommend the Skullcandy Grind. They're dirt cheap (< $30), come with a detachable cord, are also comfy as hell and they sound good enough with most popular music. They look good too. Just avoid crazy fast-paced punk/metal or classical music.
