Posted August 25, 2016 Hi all I'm planning to buy an i7-6700 and a cooler to go with it. However, most recommendations for skylake coolers i can find are for unlocked i7's. Looking for a good allround option as well as a quiet option.

Posted August 25, 2016 Honestly, the stock cooler will work just fine since its non overclockable so temps are kept in check just fine with the stock. Posted August 25, 2016 May I ask why don't you want to buy K version of CPU? It have higher clock and better results at stock. And it also provide some headroom for future OC if you will need it But if you are sold on that non K version, you can even use stock cooler. Skylake is nott a hot chip, so stock cooler will do just fine Intel i7 12700K | Gigabyte Z690 Gaming X DDR4 | Pure Loop 240mm | G.Skill 3200MHz 32GB CL14 | CM V850 G2 | RTX 3070 Phoenix | Lian Li O11 Air mini Samsung EVO 960 M.2 250GB | Samsung EVO 860 PRO 512GB | 4x Be Quiet! Posted August 25, 2016 Author budget is 40-50 euros max (~50-60$ ?) The main reason for buying an i7 is for doing music production. I went with the non K version because it + Z mobo + OC cooler is not in my budget
 Posted August 25, 2016 Be Quiet BK009 Pure Rock, BK010 Be Quiet Shadow Rock Slim, BK002 Shadow Rock LP??? Or a good old Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo??? All of those should be inside your budget range, and are all good for the future if you ever want to upgrade your cpu to the K SKU at a later date. Posted August 27, 2016 Have you tried using the stock cooler? It should be enough cooling already.
