Are SSDs supposed to be crazy light?

So my first SSD was delivered today and I took it out of the box and was immediately confused about how light it was!  I was thinking it would be at least as heavy as my wallet or iPhone 6s Plus but it feels like it is just an aluminum shell!  Is that how they are supposed to be?  Probably a dumb question but whatever...

It's basically just a PCB with some memory on it. SSD's are really light. There are no moving parts or any reinforcements on the case to stop shrapnel if the disk that's moving at 5400+ RPM decides to shatter...

nope they are pretty light, lots of it is just air and the rest is a board with some chips on, and then the shell, i like it :D

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

Yeah it really freaked me out cause it sounded hollow too, thought I go ripped off by Amazon or something.  I love the difference between SSDs and HDDs it's great.

Yeah, they're supposed to be like that. I was surprised when I opened my first SSD as well, but when you think about it it's just a tiny PCB and air in a thin plastic shell so it would be very light.

Yeah they're really light. I remember Paul took one apart on Newegg tv one time and the PCB didn't even make it halfway down the enclosure.
