The 780 is between the 960 and the 970, in terms of performance.... It's not good.... A GTX 1060/RX 480 will kick its ass!

HELLO Everyone i have a problem i need help solving. Should i trade my Asus Z97 Maximus vii formula new and unopened with an active 2 year warrenty for a GTX 780 i'm currently using a GTX 660 i own a Core i3 4360 so i don't know if upgrading to a GTX 780 would be worth it because i would just run right in to a bottleneck i don't have the coin to buy a i7 or a i5 so what should i do?

The 780 is really good especially if it's a trade for that mobo.

Or save up for an i7, and then upgrade to a high end graphic card...

Sell it all and go skylake with a midrange graphics card?

There's something cool here - you just can't see it.

No! What are you even talking about?! That Motherboard is worth more money than that 780!

OP.... Don't trade that motherboard for a 780

Yes... You can buy a 4690K....It will overclock like a charm with that motherboard and it will not bottleneck even a 1070

A 4690K would be a good option as it's fairly cheap...

If you want to buy an i7, a 4790K will be great....

Just make sure to buy a CPU from the K skew... (So that you can overclock with that Z97 motherboard)

And, if you can't find one in Stock, you can get the 3GB GTX1060... It costs $200 as well...

Still, the 780 is a weak GPU by today's standards... A 1060 runs circles around it...
