Just do a clean install. I have a adapter that goes from PATA or SATA to USB. So you can look in to picking something like that up. OR look at getting a hard disk enclosure. This way you can copy data over from the HDD after the reinstall and use the HDD as a external drive.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

I would go clean install of windows on the SSD and keeping the HDD in the system, making sure to set the BIOS to boot from the SSD, then delete the windows on the HDD and use that for your files. This also means that if your SSD dies you still have all your stuff on the HDD.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Yes. It is called cloning, but not recommended due to lack of good error correction and different technology.

Your best bet to ensure best experience is to clean install Windows, and all your stuff on the new SSD.
