Good alternative to a overpriced cyberpowerpc build

teagansalter

Hi guys,

my friend is looking at cyberpowerpc'S 675 dollar build, I'll link it here http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Gamer_Dragon but first of all I could build one for him with better stats anyway right? And second of all holy shit that thing is ugly, so can anyone compose a parts list for around the same price with some better stuff and a nice looking build? Also I want to hook him up with a Intel processor and a nvidia card, none of that team red shit. Thanks guys!

you can get better parts for the same price if you build it yourself.

Tell him to build it himself, or just have you do it with him. That thing is a total rip off.

I tried to cram the i5 with the 1060 in there for the most for his budget. If he can spend like $30 more for the up most performance. I don't know what colors you wanted, so I just went with all black as it was easy and fast to do lmao.

This'll perform much better, build it yourself, it's not that hard, I'm 13 and I can do it.

Nope, the i5 6500 is plenty powerful enough for that GPU.

Something you might want to consider is an SSD now or later, although it doesn't affect gaming performance.

i dont see why too many people are saying that you can get something better and cheaper for less... this is about what you would pay building it yourself if you included the cost of windows, the keyboard, and the mouse...

i do all used PC builds and they are all under $300 and the performance they throw out is insane value for money. look at my latest project and how much performance it outputs. and it only costed me $130 to build including taxes.

Yeah. I just priced out most of the build from their specs not including mouse, keyboard, and Windows (CyberPowerPC gives you these). Pre-built is not bad value here.

its because this community is directed towards DIY PCs. the only time a DIY PC is cheaper than a prebuilt is in the PCs above $1000. or if you do an used parts PC build.

not a bad alternative if you want to grab windows for $30 off kinguin instead of off of cyberpower pc.

this is about what you would pay for something like this btw, you just dont have to worry about building it yourself and you get a 3 yr warranty...

yeah, but if you include the cost of a mouse, keyboard, wifi dongle, mousepad... etc, even if you go cheapo and get like a cm storm 2, a usb wifi dongle like that one and a steelseries mousepad, you are adding around $50 to a build... not to mention he has to actually build it, and i doubt he would be looking on those websites if he knew how to do it (unless he wanted price comparisons, but either way, it should be known by now that the price difference isnt much)

if you check how much this build would cost him, it is definitely right around that price
