So ive just had to return my 3rd faulty gigabyte gtx 1080 due 1 windforce with the loudest coil whine imaginable a xtreme with a broken fan and a xtreme waterforce with a dodgey pump that barely worked.

This has driven me away from gigabyte as their shitty quality control but i want a 1080 to drive ny 1440p 144hz monitor

Looking for one for my mini itx i plan to upgrade to microatx in the future and go sli want a card that runs cool due to ghe heat where i live (Australia).

Was looking at the seahawk x which is cheaper then both the xtremes and the asus rog anyone got one of these to comment?  Any other s i should consider?  Was hopong for a 1080 hybrid but domt think they are released and its ridiculous to get one kit and a normal FE in price here and availability makes it worse

Sorry for the long text

Unless you plan on seriously overclocking or your case has airflow issues, I wouldn't really consider a hybrid.

Currently the highest regarded ones are MSI's Gaming X and EVGA's ACX 3.0. Do note that some of these cards are 5.25" wide, so they may not fit in smaller cases.

I'm Asus Strix man myself.

I've always loved EVGA as a company, but the new cards just are ugly to me. So I bought the Strix cards because I felt I like their looks.

As a heads up, if you do end up with a Strix card, the RGB lighting is controlled by a separate program that the motherboard lighting.

In my case, I have an Asus ROG board with RGBs, use LEDS plugged into my RGB plug on my mobo, and an Asus GPU. 2 programs to control lighting, and the GPU doesn't ever match the case lighting unles it's on a single color.

Thanks for the replies guys i will probably avoid the msi x as its had issues from what ive seen from my mates

I will be overclocking but the main thing pushing me to the seahawk x is theower temps as during summer my room hits 35-40 celcius

so i want a card running cool as possible mainly lookong for any feedback of users from this card

I was also looking at the asus 1080 due to its 68 under load reviews but even then it makes me worried really big shame the gigabyte cards are lacking QC as the waterforce would've been great although its 1450 compared to the 1250 of the sea hawk x

i love evga but their cards are super hard to get here due to stock really dont get why no news on the 1080 hybrid yet

Damn that's too bad. Then MSI would be my next choice or EVGA.

yeah im leaning towards the msi sea hakw x theaio will keep it nice and cool on those bruning hot days in summmer :)

If anything, with an AiO card your idle temps and load temps would increase because what separates an AiO and air cooler is how efficiently is transfers the heat from the GPU to the surrounding air. An AiO dumps the heat into your room better and takes in air better.

I mean the high ambient temp will make your card run hotter. The liquid cooler just means it can get the heat away from the GPU faster.
