What to upgrade first, 3570k or 770

I'm really itching for some more proformance. I was wondering what my first upgrade should be. Ive seen alot of games maxing my cpu out more than my gpu, yet one of my friends said I should still upgrade my gpu first. I really want a 10 series nvidia card, but I probably can get a better deal currently on a cpu/mobo combo. What do you guys think? For reference, my cpu is overclocked to 4.1 ghz, and my card is 2gb

I would say GPU first. It gets you the best fps boost. CPU can come after that :)

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

if you can, swap out your i5 for a used i7/xeon and a gtx 1070. otherwise just a gtx 1060 will be fine.

Well, I plan on upgrading both parts eventually, so I have my sights set on a 1070. Getting a i7 is definitely going to happen.

1070 + i7 3770K is good. 1070 + i5 3570K = bottleneck

It depends a bit upon what sort of game you play. If you play CPU intensive games like MMOs or GTA V, you might want to upgrade that old 3570 to a newer Skylake processor. (I recently went from an i5-3570K to an i5-6600 and it made a noticeable difference in SWTOR)

Graphics-wise, it depends a bit upon what resolution you game at and what graphics goodies you'd like to use. At 1920x1080, the GTX-770 is still a good card. You'd have to go to a GTX-1070 or 1080 to get a meaningful boost.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i5-6600, 16Gigs, ITX Corsair 250D, R9 390, 120Gig M.2 boot, 500Gig SATA SSD, no HDD
