First pc build. need criticism/suggestions

Get a different brand for the SSD, I've had some pretty bad experience with Adata in the past.

so this is my first ever build i don't know much about computers but i have made this build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/zv6Zf8 i dont know if it is good or not/ what needs to be changed or nothing at all

Get the i5-6600 / i5-6500 : the 6400 is pretty slow, unless you are going to use the PC to just surf online...

The PSU: Get EVGA Supernova 550W G2 80+ Gold - your choice is not as reliable as this one. This one is the best, and most popular in its segment.

Nothing to see here ;)

That is a pretty good build.

One thing you may want to think about is your storage drives.  As an alternative to what you have, you could simply get one 500gb SSD and no HDD.  It is very nice to have all your games and software on an SSD, it really speeds up the system.  Of course, you'll have to decide if you can live with only 500 gb, but you can get one for about £100.

What KennySOC put together is probably what I would put together minus the CPU cooler as those i5s are quiet and cool with the stock cooler.

Lol, the i5 6400 is not slow, it just has a slightly lower clock speed that still has more than good single-threaded performance.
