DrMacintosh

Ok, so I know there is a big thing over not being able to disable Cortana anymore.......but after the update I can no longer ENABLE Cortana!! Wtf MS? Is why you fired your quality assurance division for.

Cortana availability depends on county and language chosen...  (http://www.bing.com/search?q=why+isn't+cortana+available+on+my+windows+10+pc%3f&filters=guid:"c57cfdeb-55fd-4c75-84fe-5e525eab43f7" lang:"en-gb"&form=S00028)

If still doesn't work... Microsoft Community knows...

I live in the US so every service is always available to me. Also, the MS communities does not work for me at all, unless I use private browsing it can't sign me in xP

I just love MSFT's dev team because of such issues xD

Same Patch issue: http://www.infoworld.com/article/3103610/microsoft-windows/how-to-tell-if-your-windows-10-anniversary-update-clobbered-cortana.html

On Windows Central too!

Cortana disappears after installing Windows 10 build 14393.10

Error

  • Cortana not available on Windows 10 or Microsoft Edge

Description

After installing Windows 10 build 14393.10 (Anniversary Update), Cortana is no longer available, and there is no way to switch it back. Also, Cortana won't work on Microsoft Edge either.

Status

Microsoft is aware of the issue and it's working to offer a fix in the next couple of days.

Resolution

If you've been affected by this issue, you'll need to wait until Microsoft releases a permanent fix.

Yep, this is what happend to me. MS doesn't care about quality anymore, that is evident in the fact that they fired their bug testing/quality assurance teams a few years ago.

Yeah, They're focusing on release timing more than quality!

Something you could try is opening an admin Command Prompt by pressing [start]+'x', and then running the one that says 'Command Prompt (Admin)'

Next type in the console 'sfc /scannow' and that should fix any corrupt system files. At the end it will tell you if it fixed or replaced anything. You may need to restart your PC and run this command multiple times before it fixes the file you want it to if you have many corrupt system files. I hope this helps, it worked for me when I deleted the entire Cortana folder (C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy). I would love to know how this works out for you!

I found out that MS released a faulty batch of builds that creamed cortana for a lot of people, Ill just wait for their official fix or you know....buy a Mac.....I wouldn't be having any of the problems i've ever had with my PC on a Mac xD
