Overwatch Ban Wave -- AMUSED!

FrankV

Anyone else as amused at the reactions to the Hacker's reaction to being banned as I am? It's kind of satisfying and cathartic to read the messages....

The interesting thing is Blizzard has been crystal clear on their stance and still the MFer are shocked when they are banned on the first detection.

And OMG some of their proposed "payback" to Blizzard! Priceless!

Game companies have the right to ban people that cheat in their games. The cheaters response to being banned is pretty stupid.

Hackers hacks game, wins and destroys others people gaming experience and then gets banned and tells about how it is unfair, that he had to pay for the game. Yeah just ban them all. RioT games should do this too and Valve should start spectating some games and improve their VAC security

Overwatch bans are for life, some cheaters that re bought the game like 10 times instantly got banned again within a day probably cos hardware id popped up or something else to identify banned users.

I vote they get put in a cheater bracket where they only fight against other cheaters, whenever there no other cheaters they be fighting bots that have god mode and insta kill you from all across the map.

And the game only plays the Nyan cat soundtrack!

And then I love that they DDoS blizzard. They are permanently banned. They stopped everyone else from play for, what, an hour or two. I'm sure they feel good about their "accomplishment" but I say meh and laugh at their meager "pay back". They are still banned and we can play. They inconvenienced Blizzard and us legit players at best and at worst, annoyed us.

I swear I might buy a Loot Box every ban wave just to say thank you to Blizzard.

Everyone one of those posts in the screen caps seem to be written by immature kids. I don't understand how the "hackers" can feel accomplishment from using an external program made by someone else.

they paid to play the game true

i bet in the terms they accepted when creating a account or somewhere else there was an info that noone was reading about "3rd party software etc isnt allowed and results in a ban"

in some other games on steam they handled cheaters in a nice way

you get detected to cheat?  then you´ll only queue with other cheaters to play with them and noone of the normal players ever gets to see them again

no need to totaly ban them with hardware id etc and get those "i paid and cant play bla bla requests"

I have mixed feelings about the cheaters queue. The good thing is it takes cheaters out of the real community but the negative is that it tells those who cheat "you can cheat". It's almost like a choice players are given.

I really prefer Blizzard's take on this as I think it conveys the right message. Don't Cheat. At any time. For any reason.

Side note: In the "cheaters queue" methodology, how do they handle if a legit player accidently (or otherwise) queues with a friend that was cheater. Is the legit player temproariliy then playing with (mostly) cheaters?

i´d say if you dont use it for yourself and queue with someone that has it "enabled" then you shouldnt be harmed

and after the other player is getting detected only he gets the "yellow card"

IMO you pay for it and even if you cheat with 3rd party tools/software it would be better to move them into seperate queues

i dont say cheating is legit or anyone that lacks the skill or the effort to archieve something should do this but there are and will always be people that try using gaps/bugs and whatever to get a bonus

but both sides can life next to each other, NOT TOGETHER

for the other methology i need to check the steam community forums to find it again, i think it was with some call of duty games and others

People who use hacks shouldn't be given a slap on the wrist like this. Allowing them to continue to play the game, even if their gameplay/matchmaking is limited, isn't really a good way of dealing with hackers. It might be funny to hear how hackers in Titanfall could only be matched with other hackers, but outright banning their accounts is more likely to prevent them from hacking again.

Let them appeal their bans, but they must be dressed like a Teletubby, and present the appeal on livestream while riding a unicycle.

I always found the argument of "I paid for the game I should be able to cheat" ridiculous. For one it ruins the game for other people who also paid for the game and aren't cheating. Just because you paid for a game does not give you full reign to do whatever to other players. If hackers want to hack a game and mess around with it locally or on their own private server then fine but not on public matchmaking servers.

The blizzard permaban is great IMHO. Would much rather see permabans than their games ruined by cheaters and script kiddies.
