RX 480 question

If you're upgrading prebuilt, I would suggest against that card.

Usually the PSU doesn't even have PCIE power connector and the quality is questionable.

750Ti is the max I would go as far as upgrading prebuilt with unknown PSU.

Mind checking the PSU first?

Or is this "dell optiplex 790" a name of a case instead of a prebuilt system...?

If the PC you are looking at is in picture #1 then a RX-480 (or A LOT of GPU's in the market) will NOT fit.

The one you are looking at is a 'Slime-line' / Low-Profile computer. 

 

The best you can get is probably something like a GTX 750Ti, R7-250(X), etc...

probably not those cases use low profile PCI devices

Get a new PC instead. It's a waste of money if you want to turn an SFF desktop into a semi gaming rig.

Yeah, the computer OP is looking uses half-width / Low-Profile expansion slots.

All those have a Low-Profile bracket included -- you swap the "regular" width rear I/O plate out.

That is why the VGA output is on a ribbon cable; it gets disconnected.
