Go for.... Neither. Wait for the rx 460, which is coming out in around a week. It should deliver 950 performance (my guess) for around 100 usd or so. So basically you can get 950 performance for the price of a 750 ti.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

R9 290 is not even comparable with the GTX 960, it's more of a GTX 970 range atm.

Still, I'd wait for RX 460 and 470 release.

the GTX750Ti is only a good pick if you want the single best card that runs off of pcie slot power. (no 6-pin or 8-pin)

in all other cases the 950 is a better choice (in which i dont mention potential other cards that may be even better than the 950.)

Yes, but on the used market they can be had for less than 200$ CAD.

Don't waste your money. Wait for the RX 470 or RX 460. They will trash both those cards.

You dont like amd? There is a reason?

Because you DONT chose a gpu like that, you need to take price, performance, energy consumption...

The new rx séries are good in all that. Só if you dont want to buy amd Just because it is amd, you are not a smart person.

Ultra is stupid. ALWAYS.

Number ONE, I am building a Hackintosh/Windows PC so I can't use AMD GPUs.  Number TWO, I really like NVIDIA GPUs because I have always had a good experience with them.

And if you don't want AMD, buy the 950, the GTX 1050 will definitely cost more than $150 and $200 for the founders edition.... (judging from the current Nvidia prices....)

I could either go for the new and advanced card (950) or the one with a better clock speed (750 TI FTW).

The GTX 950 is faster than the GTX 750 Ti, at any feasible clock speed. GPU frequency never supersedes simply having a faster graphics processor aboard.

That being said, I agree with most of those above. If you're buying from this end of the market right now, you'll probably be better served by waiting a few days or weeks to see what happens with the RX 460 and RX 470. There may also be a GTX 1050 eventually, but probably not as soon.

Thanks for the information at the top of the thread.

I don't think you read what I said above but I am building a Hackintosh and most  AMD graphics cards aren't supported.  For right now, I have to stick to NVIDIA GPUs.

And another reason why I hate AMD is THESE FREAKING FANBOYS!

People are recommending you wait on the 460 and 470 because they should be excellent price to performance contenders, beating out older cars from both companies (wait for release for confirmation obviously). You made no mention of a hackintosh in your original post.

Quit acting like a douche to people that were giving you reasonable advice given your original post. Next time, maybe include a little more info in your post regarding your intended use.

Oh, and of the 2, get the 950.

I even said above that I was building a Hackintosh/windows PC.  People just don't read and I get mad when they don't read what I have already provided.

I said that to some dude wondering why I don't like AMD.

You didn't mention hackintosh till your third post in this thread. You didn't provide the information till post #10 of this thread, can't get mad at people for missing something you didn't say.

Anyways, the 950 should be a decent performer and good luck with your dual boot hackintosh/windows build. I've been considering turning an old Dell Optiplex I have into a hackintosh, but it seems like a fair amount of work (to get it ALL working correctly). That and it'd probably just still sit in my corner of PCs and parts collecting dust even if I did hackintosh it...

@thatguy321 Sorry for the late reply :P. I'm very lacklustre when it comes to providing information so don't cut me too much slack :P.  Well anyway thanks for the help!
