So my 1060 came yesterday and has brought me great graphical performance joy.... but can I get more? No I'm not talking about overclocking (already done that :P), I am in fact talking of PhysX cards. With me having no use for my old 750ti that my 1060 is replacing and there being spare PCIe slots in my mobo should I just put the card back in there? So I'm asking whether making a 750ti the dedicated PhysX card instead of the 1060 will give me noticeable extra performance, and if so by how much? (No crystal ball jokes please I only ask for a guess :D) Thanks!

I use my old gpu for some rendering. PhysX sounds like it won't have a future because nVidia are keeping it to them selves. Keeping your old gpu in another slot wont hurt anything.

Actually it can. It takes PCI lanes away from the system. Add a M.2, sound card, and that useless PHYSX card and the fps will lower once the graphics card gets kicked to x4.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Personally, I have a PhysX card, so here's what I have to say.

Negatives:

-Greater power draw.

-Greater heat output.

-Takes PCIe lanes away from the primary card (the performance difference is negligible, but it exists).

-Only works in a couple games (and I do mean 'a couple').

Benefits:

-Increases performance a respectable amount in games that can use it.

-Makes the case feel less empty.

I'm perfectly happy with mine because I have only two purposes for it: Looking impressive and being there on the occasion it becomes useful.

If your concern is performance, however, I only recommend it if you play a lot of Warframe or something like that.

"Do as I say, not as I do."

-Because you actually care if it makes sense.
