Hi Guys! I'm having a decision making dilemma. I have a small budget now and I want to buy a gaming pc. Right now I rent at shops playing mostly dota2,lol & tree of savior. I know intel is better in compute performance but I'm a red fanboy. I'm thinking getting fx-6300 for cpu. Should I go for it or should I wait for zen?

Also any idea on exact date for zen?

I wouldn't wait, for those games an FX-6300 or an Athlon X4 860k should be awesome.

Well, the FX 6300 is really showing its age (released as part of the Bulldozer>Vishera refresh in 2012, and on par with first gen core i series CPU), and an i3 6100 outperforms it. Only wait for Zen if you would need 8+ threads, otherwise go with something from Skylake as Zen is predicted to have near Haswell performance and be available in limited stock at the end of this year, with full availability being available in 2017. Its pretty much going to end up being 2-3 generations behind the way Bulldozer and Vishera were.

If you plan on playing new AAA games then wait for Zen. If not your cpu doesn't really matter much, just buy something cheap. But Zen probably isn't going to be cheap, it sounds like they're aiming for it to be an i7 competitor.

I'm waiting for ZEN, looks to be a very interesting idea, I'm just playing around with server-grade parts while I wait

Please don't do that. If you are looking for legitimate reccomendations don't say "I don't want this because I'm a fanboy". Anyway. If you are on a really tight budget I would look at the 860k. Don't bother with the 6300. Get a Skylake i3 6100 instead. It might be worth waiting for zen on the low end but we really don't know yet. I'd say just buy the best you can now.

Thanks Guys! I'm getting g4400 :)

Its better to save for an i3, CPU with only 2 threads (single modules, dual cores, hyperthreaded single cores) really aren't good for anything except basic tasks.
