So yeah I have a concussion. A 3/4 quarter inch pipe slipped from the ledge an hit me on the side of the head went to my supervisor telling him I didn't feel good he said to tough it out or we file an incident, I roughed it out for about 20 minutes until I had a customer and I couldn't anwser her question. Then I filed a report my supervisor was a real dick about and treated me like I was faking i.

Basically long story short ( I won't bore you with detail Ive had several night disturbances went back to work Wednesday supervisor was a dick tried to get me to admit fault but did say go home and don't come back until you have a work release.ugh it took three hospital visits to get a note saying I DO have a concussion.

So hears my question what do I do to keep myself from going insane? I shouldn't be on my phone but I've slept as much as I can.... Also I am aware not a good forum to ask for advice but we got kids asking for dating advice so why not? :P

This is what you do:

  1. Record everything:
    1. The details of the incident including: What you were doing, what you observed, the times and what exactly happened.
    2. Your boss's behaviour towards you.
    3. What happened afterwards including dates and times.
    4. Photographs of the environment and of your injuries over time - keep a photographic log.
  2. Establish fault; is there a health and safety procedure in effect? Was it followed?
  3. Get yourself a lawyer (possibly specialized in employment law, health and safety & workplace injury) and go down the legal route for compensation.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

ugh the last thing I feel like doing right know. I have no physical injury on the outside and there was no brain injury from the ct scan, Idk I'lll see how things pan out before I go down the legal route,  I have documentation have you dealt with this before ?

I reckon get some good sunlight, and just do things with your hands, learn how to solve a rubiks cube?

not funny man, you try doing a rubiks cube with a concussion or going outside with one,

this is a serious topic

What specifically? Concussion or legal action?

This is the last thing you need right now. You should note that the situation has resulted in your injury being further compounded by the resultant stress.

Photosensitivity is not an uncommon side effect.

In general recovery is relative and you should take as long as you need to. I'd say that two weeks would be quite optimistic/conservative.

Quintessentially there's only one priority here; that's your health, seriously, because without that then the rest will crumble all around you.

The moment there is severe contact to the head, you should be going to a quiet room to be evaluated immediately.

Of course not. What I'm trying to say is that perhaps you should think about turning an apparent negative situation into a positive one. This may be a signal that something could change... Then again I'm not going to pry or tell/advise you about what you should be doing with your own life! I'm simply saying what my own thought processes would begin turning to if I were in such a situation.

I'm not sure about the law in your country but certainly in the UK there are policies, agencies and unions. Beyond those we have the ability (at any time) to turn to lawyers who specialise in the relevant fields. The former are usually free while the latter usually costs unless it's a 'no win no fee' arrangement - You'll get what you pay for (or don't) essentially. Sometimes it can also be enough to simply drop in the mention of negative publicity - be this social media or real media.

I have come close to seeking compensation on a couple of occasions in the past, thankfully however it was unnecessary in the end. What I will say though is that life is far too short to have it compromised at the hands of someone else - I'd encourage you to do everything in your power to fight for what you believe is right. Don't ever let anyone else stand on you no matter how big they initially appear to be or 'think' that they are.

I can kinda remember when I had my concussion from football and what worked for me was to just get out and move around a bit or do a really light workout.  Other then that I would work to stay nice and hydrated and read some books to keep your mind sharp and working on your attentiveness which something I had a difficulty with.  Give it a few weeks and you should be ok!

I have major light sensetivity (as in computer monitors are out I'm responding on my very cracked phone) and am prone to being dizzy doctors told me to rest and after going out yesterday (was not fun for me) I'm listening to them

I've decided to not worry until I'm sexually over the symptoms it only causes stress and makes my head hurt
