I just ordered a noctua nh-d14, I've done a lot of research and looked up a lot of videos but I just wanted to know if there was anything I should know about installing it just to be sure, cause it's better to hear from experienced people talking straight to me than just videos and reviews. I'm installing on an AM3+ socket, so anything that I should definitely know about installing it would be very helpful, or even a good installation video on AMD cause all of the good ones I found were on intel. Thanks!

i'd installed the NH-D14 on my FX-8350/Crosshair V Formula-Z and Arc Midi case

and all was good. RAM was low-profile Corsair.

As airdeano alluded to..........RAM height is the only thing that I have heard of that may cause an issue with installation.

The heat pipes, Cooling Fins/Fans etc........hitting the top of the RAM.

I kinda want to replace my Corsair H80i with an NH-D14, but a few critical issues have stopped me:

1) I have a Mini-ITX system in a Fractal Design Node 304, there's a pretty big chance that it simply cannot be mounted in the confined space.

2) I have mid-profile RAM, in between Corsair LP and Corsair Vengeance, so I will have to switch to LP RAM.

3) The Noctua fan color. My red/black/white color scheme will be ruined if I use an NH-D14. Painting the fans without ruining the fan balance will be very tricky, and switching to other fans will defeat the main purpose of a Noctua cooler.

Don't paint them it decreases performance, use Rit Dye.
