Is it bad to use a disk?

So I will be installing windows 8.1 on a disk and my question is, is it Bad to use a disk to install it?

install from cd disc? not bad. install to hdd disk? also not bad just slow.

installing OS to ssd is definitely the way to go

It'll be WAY faster installing off a USB, the very first time I installed from a USB I never went back to using a DVD (partially because of most PC's I build don't have optical drives).

its way faster installing with usb than cd.. people just forgot how slow cd is... but you're installing it once.. soo.. If you have more than one computer get a usb

Yup.

CD works, but USB is way more convenient and faster, and doesn't require a disk drive :)

Installing from a USB 3.0 drive to an SSD is really quick. (I think Linus did in 12 minutes or something)

I can totally understand that mistake... I almost would have said the same thing.  Reason being, I subconsciously was thinking back to the USB sticks we had when CDs were still a thing, ie, the ones that 5 to 10 MB/s read xD
